Some common faults in the use of CNC cutting machine servo motor

During the daily use of the plasma cutting machine, the servo motor may have some failures. Next, Huafei CNC will explain the reasons and solutions for these failures.

1. Overcurrent and overload. There are some reasons for the failure of the motor normally used on the machine tool:

1. Excessive mechanical load is caused by mechanical reasons. After troubleshooting, the motor will not be affected, but the motor is often operated under overcurrent conditions, which will cause damage to the motor.

2. The motor brush and other parts are short-circuited to the ground or poorly insulated.

3. The output power components and related parts of the controller are faulty.

Second, the torque is reduced and there is no power. If there is less resistance, there will be an alarm. The reasons for this type of failure are:

1. The motor may be demagnetized.

2. The contact resistance of the brush is too large, or the contact is bad.

3. The brush spring burns out and the pressure becomes smaller, causing excessive sparks under the brush.

4. The controller is faulty.

3. The motor rotates with noise or abnormal sound. The reason is:

1. There are foreign objects or magnets in the motor.

2. The mechanical connection is not installed correctly.

3. The commutator is rough or burnt.

4. Bearing damage or other mechanical failures.

4. Vibration when the motor rotates. The reasons are:

1. The commutator has a short circuit.

2. The surface of the commutator is burnt out and uneven.

3. Oil has penetrated into the brush or oil stains have adhered to the surface of the commutator.

5. Brake failure.

Most of the motors used on the vertical axis are equipped with brakes. When the brake fails, the motor will overcurrent, overheat, and produce other faults. When repairing a motor with a brake, the brake should be disengaged first. A common method is to directly connect the power supply to the brake coil to disengage it. For example, a mechanical release device is more convenient. Some brakes have rectifiers, so check them when there is a fault.
